About these terms
DayTrip and this website are provided by Trevor Ringle, an individual developer based in Illinois, United States (“I,” “me,” or “DayTrip”). These terms describe your use of the app and website. If you do not agree, do not use them.
The app’s software license is governed by Apple’s Standard Licensed Application End User License Agreement (EULA). These terms supplement that license with service, membership, and website information; they do not replace it. Apple’s applicable terms govern purchases made through the App Store. If there is a conflict about the software license or App Store billing, the applicable Apple terms control. Our Privacy Policy explains information handling.
Membership & billing
Access to DayTrip’s trip-planning features requires an active paid subscription or an eligible lifetime purchase. Available plans, prices, currency, billing periods, and any offer conditions are displayed in the app and Apple’s purchase confirmation before you buy. Offer availability may change.
- Monthly and annual plans: these are recurring subscriptions. Apple charges your Apple Account and automatically renews the subscription unless you cancel according to the terms shown at purchase. To avoid the next renewal, cancel at least 24 hours before the current period ends.
- Lifetime membership: where offered, this is a one-time, non-recurring purchase for continuing membership access to DayTrip. There is no recurring subscription charge for that purchase. A launch offer does not create a recurring payment. A lifetime purchase does not guarantee that the app, every individual feature, or third-party services will remain available indefinitely.
- Cancellation: manage or cancel subscriptions through your Apple Account settings. Deleting DayTrip or contacting support alone does not cancel an Apple subscription. Access normally continues through the end of the paid period, subject to refunds or other Apple account changes.
- Restoring access: use Restore Purchases in DayTrip with the Apple Account used for the original purchase. A restored purchase must remain eligible for access.
- Refunds: purchases are processed by Apple. Use Apple’s refund request service to request an eligible refund. Applicable consumer rights and Apple’s terms remain in effect.
Internet access may be needed to purchase, restore, or verify membership. An expired membership does not automatically delete your trip content. You must have authorization to use the Apple Account and payment method used for a purchase.
A planner, not a booking service
DayTrip helps organize places, routes, schedules, notes, and booking information. Adding a place, attaching a ticket, or saving booking details does not make, modify, or confirm a reservation. Reservations and services purchased through external links are agreements between you and the relevant provider.
Maps, directions, travel times, weather, venue information, and recommendations can be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Opening hours and conditions may change. Confirm important details with the venue or provider, allow appropriate travel time, and follow local rules and current conditions. DayTrip is not an emergency or safety service.
Some features require internet access, permissions, iCloud, or third-party services. Offline access to all maps, forecasts, venue information, or routes is not guaranteed.
Google place photos and cards
Use of Google Maps content in DayTrip is subject to the Google Maps/Google Earth Additional Terms of Service and Google Privacy Policy. Photos are available only for some places, and coverage and availability can change. Credit and source links remain with the place card. Apple Maps continues to provide DayTrip’s trip map and directions.
Your content stays yours
You retain ownership of the notes, plans, and files you add. You are responsible for having permission to use that content and for keeping copies of important travel documents. DayTrip processes your content only as needed to provide the features you choose, as described in the Privacy Policy.
You may not use the app or website unlawfully, attempt unauthorized access, interfere with their operation, or infringe someone else’s rights. DayTrip’s app design, branding, code, and website content are protected by applicable intellectual property laws. Third-party maps, names, and other materials belong to their respective owners.
Availability & responsibility
I aim to keep DayTrip useful and reliable, but cannot promise uninterrupted service, error-free information, or compatibility with every future device or operating system. Features may be updated as the app and its supporting services evolve. Material changes affecting paid access will be handled in accordance with applicable law and Apple’s terms.
To the extent permitted by law, the app and website are provided as available, without additional warranties beyond those that cannot legally be excluded. To that same extent, I am not responsible for indirect or consequential losses caused by use of the service, including missed travel arrangements resulting from inaccurate third-party information. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded, limits mandatory consumer rights, or overrides protections in Apple’s EULA.
Applicable law & updates
These supplemental terms are governed by Illinois law, except where mandatory laws in your place of residence provide otherwise. They do not remove any non-waivable consumer protections or rights to bring a claim in a court available under applicable law. The software license remains subject to the governing-law provisions in Apple’s EULA.
Updates to these terms will be posted here with a revised date. Material changes will receive additional notice where required. Changes will not retroactively remove rights you already have under applicable law.
