Who runs DayTrip
DayTrip and this website are operated by Trevor Ringle, an individual developer based in Illinois, United States (“I,” “me,” or “DayTrip”). This policy covers the DayTrip app, this website, and support communications. For privacy questions, email hello@owedge.app.
Information & services
Your trips
Destinations, travel dates, saved places, itineraries, preferences, notes, booking details, and ticket files you choose to add are stored on your device. When iCloud is available and enabled for DayTrip, trip content can sync through your private iCloud database. DayTrip does not operate a separate server that stores your trip content, and that content is not sent to RevenueCat or Meta for advertising.
Maps, weather & location
DayTrip uses Apple services to search for places, display maps, calculate routes, and retrieve weather. These requests may include search text, map areas, destination coordinates, and route endpoints. If you choose to show your current location and grant location permission, DayTrip uses it for that feature. The app does not continuously track your location in the background or maintain a history of your movements.
Apple processes information through its services under its own policies. Read Apple’s Privacy Policy and Apple Maps & Privacy. Opening a venue’s website or another external service is also subject to that service’s privacy practices.
Place photos
DayTrip uses Google Maps Platform Places UI Kit to display photos and place cards when available. Loading a card sends the name and coordinates of the place being browsed to Google. DayTrip does not send your live device location, itinerary, travel dates, notes, bookings, or tickets to this photo service. Google may also process network information, app and device information, an SDK installation identifier, and service-use information to deliver, secure, and improve the service. Photo and place-card attribution links identify their sources. See Google’s Privacy Policy and Google Maps terms.
Purchases & membership
Apple handles payments. DayTrip does not receive your payment card details. RevenueCat helps validate purchases, restore access, and manage membership status. It processes a randomly generated app user identifier, purchase and subscription records, and technical information such as app version, operating system, device type, network information, and tracking permission status. The identifier is not your name or email address, but can connect purchases and app activity over time.
I can access membership information in RevenueCat to operate the app and help resolve purchase issues. DayTrip does not require you to create an account or send your trip content to RevenueCat. See RevenueCat’s Privacy Policy.
Support messages
If you email support, I receive your email address, your message, and any attachments or other information you choose to provide. I use this information to respond, investigate problems, and improve DayTrip. Please avoid sending passwords, payment card details, or ticket barcodes unless a redacted example is necessary to explain your issue.
This website
This website is hosted by Vercel. To deliver and protect the site, the hosting service may process request information such as your IP address, browser and device information, requested pages, and request times. The site does not include advertising pixels, third-party analytics scripts, or marketing cookies. See Vercel’s Privacy Notice.
Advertising measurement & tracking choices
DayTrip uses Meta and RevenueCat to measure app activations and membership purchases and understand the results of DayTrip advertising. Limited measurement can continue when Apple’s App Tracking Transparency permission is not authorized. This may include Meta’s app-install identifier, a RevenueCat app user identifier in hashed form, purchase details such as product, amount and time, technical app and device information, network information associated with requests, and tracking permission status. App-specific identifiers can distinguish installations or membership records; this reporting is not described as anonymous.
Without tracking permission, DayTrip disables collection of the device’s advertising identifier (IDFA), applies Meta’s limited-event-data setting to SDK events, and does not explicitly collect optional IDFV and IP matching attributes for RevenueCat’s Meta integration. If permission is withdrawn, DayTrip clears those previously collected optional matching attributes when it next refreshes the choice. RevenueCat sends purchase events through Meta’s Conversions API with the available permission status. These reporting controls do not grant permission to track across other companies’ apps and websites.
If you allow Apple’s tracking request, DayTrip enables additional device-identifier collection to help Meta and RevenueCat match app activity and purchases to advertising. With permission, this may link activity in DayTrip with activity across other companies’ apps and websites. Your trip content, ticket files, booking notes, precise location, email and phone number are not supplied to Meta by DayTrip.
Declining tracking does not change your membership or prevent you from using DayTrip. You can change your choice in iOS Settings → Privacy & Security → Tracking. Turning tracking off returns the app to limited measurement when DayTrip refreshes your choice; it does not erase information providers have already received. For requests about access, deletion or additional advertising privacy choices, contact hello@owedge.app. See Meta’s Privacy Policy.
I do not sell your personal information for money. Advertising disclosures may be considered “sharing” or targeted advertising under some privacy laws. You can decline or withdraw Apple’s tracking permission and contact me to exercise additional rights that apply where you live.
Your rights & choices
- Edit or delete trip information in DayTrip. Manage iCloud access and backups through your Apple device settings.
- Change location permission and tracking permission in iOS Settings.
- Manage subscriptions in your Apple Account settings. Canceling a subscription does not itself delete your trip content.
- Email hello@owedge.app to ask about access, correction, deletion, or a copy of personal information I or my providers hold for DayTrip.
Depending on your location, you may also have rights to restrict or object to processing, withdraw consent, opt out of certain sharing, appeal a privacy decision, or complain to a privacy regulator. I will respond as required by applicable law and may need enough information to verify and locate your request. I cannot directly read or delete content held only on your device or in your private iCloud database. Some records may need to be retained for legal obligations or active disputes.
Children’s privacy
DayTrip is not directed to children under 13. I do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 through support or advertising measurement. If you believe a child has provided personal information, please contact me so I can investigate and address it.
Changes & contact
This policy may be updated as DayTrip changes. Updates will appear here with a revised date; material changes will receive additional notice where required.
